Computer Equipment
from: Oracle "Help Us Help
Foundation"

Grants
of computer equipment and software for schools in
low-income communities including new Internet appliances
and laser printers and all the ancillary equipment
necessary to connect the devices. 200 grants and 10,000
computers are expected to be given the first year.
"The majority
of our grantees are schools, and our grant packages
are structured to outfit ten, six or five classrooms
with five computers and one printer each. Non-school
applicants should distribute equipment according
to their programmatic needs.
Our aim is to provide
youth with maximum access, so we prefer to see the
equipment installed in classrooms or facilities
where students can use it everyday, rather than
in "computer labs" that they visit infrequently.
Grantees receive
brand new equipment, and can choose from three packages."
