Michigan Model Nutrition Education Objectives

Students will understand how to reduce fat in the diet and avoid obesity Students will understand the importance of healthy snacking

Students will understand that snacking is a part of a healthy/balanced diet

MDE Health Education Content Standards and Benchmarks

Content Standard #3:  All students will practice health enhancing behaviors and reduce health risks

o       Identify responsible health behaviors o       Demonstrate strategies to improve or maintain personal health

Content Standard #4:  All students will analyze the influence of cultural beliefs, media, and technology on health

o       Describe ways technology can influence personal health

Content Standard #5:  All students will use goal setting and decision making skills to enhance health
