Join us each Tuesday for a 1-mile loop around the village of Morrice. All athletic skills welcome, we all walk at our own pace, some patrons walk faster than others and that is welcome.  Meet at the Morrice Library at 11am ready to walk.

Snacks will be provided after we finish walking.

Travel the globe without leaving the library! Now on the first Tuesday of each month, we'll explore a different country through its snacks and sweets. Come curious, leave full.

Classes are Deaf-led, providing authentic language exposure and cultural context.

Instruction will be provided in ASL, with voice interpretation available in both English and Spanish to support multilingual learners.

This is a virtual class held on Zoom.

In this session, participants will learn about the brain’s natural negativity bias and how it shapes our responses to stress. We’ll also discuss the benefits of positive self-talk and explore practical tools for recognizing and reframing negative thoughts.

Session 3: SLEEP Basics

Are you feeling tired or burned out? Do you consider yourself a “good” sleeper? Getting adequate, consistent sleep is essential for building resilience to stress and preventing chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and mental health disorders. In this session, participants will explore the critical role sleep plays in both physical and mental health and learn practical strategies for improving sleep hygiene to support overall well-being.

This is a live webinar series, available over Zoom. It will not be recorded. Instructions on Zoom set up and login will be sent in the reminder email.

• October 10 – Pumpkin Painting – Get creative with pumpkins – No carving required! In this class our little artists will paint their very own pumpkin-inspired masterpiece on a round canvas. Please bring a box to take the painting home in.

September 23 – Monotype Print Making- with a fall flavor! Using water based inks to paint loosely and print quickly!

September 30 – Hand building in Clay Arctic Creatures- (requires glazing class on October 14, to finish) (Projects from this class will be part of a January Children’s exhibit in the gallery!) Think Polar Bears, the Arctic fox, & Walrus.’ 

October 7 – Hello Fall, Glass Fused Tiles- Design with glass pieces that will be fired in the kiln and available for pick up at the next class.  (Students in K & 1st grade should have a helper.) 

October 14 – Glazing Pottery – Put the finish on your pumpkins and your creatures from September clay classes.  A second firing will be required and can be picked up at the Oct. 21st class.  

October 21 – Magic Mosaic – Travel back in time and create art like the ancient Romans! Roman families decorated their homes, floors and walls with beautiful mosaics.  In this class we will learn about Roman mosaics and create colorful paper mosaic art pieces to take home.

October 28 – Agamograph – Create an art piece that changes right before your eyes!  Agamorgraph is a special technique that uses paper folding to reveal a different image depending on which direction you view it from!

September 25: RELAX - Alternatives to Anger for Parents and Caregivers

Everyone gets angry, including young children. RELAX for parents and caregivers explores the anger and strong emotions experienced by infants, toddlers and preschoolers. This workshop will help participants learn about the developmental stages in children’s self-control and how parents and caregivers can assist children at each stage, learn about cortisol and our body’s reaction to stress, and explore activities that can help with self-control.

Join us each Tuesday for a 1-mile loop around the village of Morrice. All athletic skills welcome, we all walk at our own pace, some patrons walk faster than others and that is welcome.  Meet at the Morrice Library at 11am ready to walk.  

Please no dogs.  

We will cancel walking club if there is inclement weather, notifications are sent via email or text to patrons who have registered.  

Snacks will be provided after we finish walking.

Come to the library for stories, an activity, and a snack! Storytime is geared toward children 0-4 years old, however children of all ages are welcome to attend with their caregiver!

Patrons of all ages are invited to come to the library to make cute mini pumpkins out of wooden scrabble blocks. This is a fun easy craft that anyone can do. You can top it off with a ribbon or twine of your choice. We look forward to seeing you for this fall craft.

September 16  –  Handbuilding pumpkins in clay- Create cute, textured pumpkins in clay that will be fired and ready to glaze in October.  (requires glazing class on  October 14.)

September 23 – Monotype Print Making- with a fall flavor! Using water based inks to paint loosely and print quickly!

September 30 – Hand building in Clay Arctic Creatures- (requires glazing class on October 14, to finish) (Projects from this class will be part of a January Children’s exhibit in the gallery!) Think Polar Bears, the Arctic fox, & Walrus.’ 

October 7 – Hello Fall, Glass Fused Tiles- Design with glass pieces that will be fired in the kiln and available for pick up at the next class.  (Students in K & 1st grade should have a helper.) 

October 14 – Glazing Pottery – Put the finish on your pumpkins and your creatures from September clay classes.  A second firing will be required and can be picked up at the Oct. 21st class.  

October 21 – Magic Mosaic – Travel back in time and create art like the ancient Romans! Roman families decorated their homes, floors and walls with beautiful mosaics.  In this class we will learn about Roman mosaics and create colorful paper mosaic art pieces to take home.

October 28 – Agamograph – Create an art piece that changes right before your eyes!  Agamorgraph is a special technique that uses paper folding to reveal a different image depending on which direction you view it from!

November 4 – Pottery on the Wheel – Turning eARTh into ART! Learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel and make two functional dinnerware pieces.  Students need to sign up for the next glazing session November 18.

November 11 – Mixed Media Treasure Map –  Working with unusual techniques on a tea or coffee stained background to create your own Treasure map.  

November 18 – Glazing Pottery – Put the finishing touches on pottery created on November 4th.  Pottery will be fired and available at the next class.

November 25 – No class.  Happy Thanksgiving!
