Have you always wanted to try throwing pottery on the wheel?! Dress for mess and bring an old towel to throw over your lap. There will be a demo on creating functional pottery. This workshop includes clay, glazes, and firing. The second day, trimming pottery pieces and creating handle attachments will be taught. (required glazing workshop to finish pottery pieces).

Completed pieces are usually ready for pick-up in 14 days after glazing.

America250/Food ~ Recreate some of the most beautiful places in America using tasty treats! 

This event is for ages 5 and older.

Art ~ Kids ages 4 to 12 are invited to Unearth a Story by creating fossil imprints in clay.

The pottery creations will be glazed and fired and returned to the library for pickup in 3-4 weeks.

Join us as we Taste The World!

A variety of sweet and salty snacks are specially brought in from a different country every month. Kids are invited to join the fun and experience flavors from around the world on the third Monday of every month. Fun facts will also be shared.

Join us each Tuesday for a 1-mile loop around the village of Morrice. All athletic skills welcome, we all walk at our own pace, some patrons walk faster than others and that is welcome.  Meet at the Morrice Library at 11am ready to walk.  

Please no dogs.  

We will cancel walking club if there is inclement weather, notifications are sent via email or text to patrons who have registered.  

Snacks will be provided after we finish walking.

Join our monthly reading club for ages 7–12 who love to read! We meet on the third Tuesday of each month to explore a new book, talk about favorite characters, and enjoy fun activities inspired by the books. Come discover your next great read!

RELAX: Alternatives to Anger is a four-part educational series designed to help adults, parents and caregivers increase their knowledge about anger issues and put anger management and healthy relationship skills into practice. Through presentations, group discussion and skill-building activities, participants learn what anger is, what triggers anger, calming down and de-stressing methods, the principles of problem solving, effective communication skills and forgiving and letting go of the past.  
 
The concepts of RELAX include:   

• Recognize your anger signals.  

• Empathize by seeing the other person’s point of view.  

• Listen and really hear what the other person is saying.  

• Accept that the other person’s anger is NOT ABOUT YOU.

Tweens can visit the Owosso children's library each month on the third Tuesday to participate in activities based on favorite book series! In July, there will be an arrangement of graphic novel activities tweens can do!

We cannot get enough of these amazing six-legged friends! Join us for what has become an annual tribute to insects in the gardens. We will be collecting bugs, observing bugs and even making bugs! Our friends from the MSU Bug House will be back this year with their amazing collections of insects from all over the world!

Cost is $5 per child.

Looking for a reason to get out of the house and connect with other moms? Join us for a casual, welcoming, and kid-friendly gathering at the library, perfect for moms with young children. Kids can play independently or with each other while moms enjoy conversation, coloring, or a simple activity together. Take a break and enjoy a supportive space to connect and unwind.

Moms meet on the fourth Thursday of each month. If a holiday falls on that date, the gathering will be held the Thursday before.

The goal of First Baptist Baby Pantry is to prevent child abuse and neglect through the means of early childhood support to at risk families in the Shiawassee county area.

Hours of Distribution:

2nd & 4th Monday of the month.

     2nd Monday hours: 10am-2pm.

     4th Monday hours: 3pm-7pm.

Please Note: Donations are accepted on these days ONLY. (Please do not leave items outside.) You can call the office for an appointment to drop off items during hours outside of regular Baby Pantry days at (989) 723-1670.

Join your Science Center in the First Impression Room for storytime sessions! STEM Storytime takes place the last Thursday of each month. Visitors will listen to themed books, explore a special sensory bin, and play with friends! STEM Storytime begins at 10:30 a.m. and is designed for children 2 to 4 years old.
