McKinney - Vento Act
Do you live in any of the following situations?
- In a shelter
- In a motel or campground due to lack of an alternative adequate accommodation
- In a car, park, abandoned building, bus or train station
- Doubled up with people due to loss of housing or economic hardship
If so you may qualify for certain rights and protections under the federal McKinney-Vento Act.
Your child may be eligible for educational services through the McKinney-Vento Act.
Eligibility is based on the current primary nighttime residence and can be determined by completing this questionnaire.
A hero doesn’t necessarily have to wear a cape and tights, maybe a hero speaks up for what’s right. Maybe that hero could be you. If you see or hear something that doesn’t seem right, you can submit a confidential tip to OK2SAY. OK2SAY allows anyone to confidentially report tips on criminal activities or potential harm directed at Michigan students, school employees, or schools. Protect yourself and others by using OK2SAY.
